Description
MONOCRYL™ Plus Suture, P-1, Undyed, Size 5-0, 18" is a synthetic absorbable monofilament suture designed to provide optimal wound support while minimizing the risk of bacterial colonization. It is impregnated with an antibacterial agent, typically triclosan, which helps reduce the potential for infection in surgical sites, making it especially suitable for use in procedures involving high-risk patients.
The suture maintains approximately 50–70% of its original tensile strength at one week post-implantation. This rapid decline in tensile strength is matched by a predictable absorption profile, with complete mass absorption occurring between 91 and 119 days. This performance makes it ideal for internal soft tissue approximation where long-term support is not necessary.
MONOCRYL™ Plus offers exceptional pliability, which enables smooth and effortless passage through tissue with minimal drag. The monofilament construction further reduces tissue reactivity and provides a clean incision path, contributing to more favorable healing outcomes.
